A clear starting point for understanding what we do, what the work can change, and how to move from an energy question to a decision you can defend.

01 / The people behind the advice

About Hawley Energy

Are you independent from energy suppliers, vendors, and equipment manufacturers?

Yes. Hawley Energy is an independent consultancy. Recommendations are based on the evidence from your buildings and the commercial case in front of you, not on a supplier, vendor, manufacturer, or lender sales target.

Who are the team, and what experience do they bring?

The team brings practical experience across building services, energy management, and sustainability. Hawley Energy works with CIBSE-accredited professionals and an ESOS Lead Assessor, giving you technical confidence alongside a clear commercial view.

What does an energy consultant do, and how is that different from an energy broker?

An energy consultant starts with how your buildings operate: the data, the waste, the risks, and the improvements that could make a difference. An energy broker usually focuses on arranging an energy supply contract or another specific commercial product. Hawley Energy can help you understand the wider decision before you commit to one route.

02 / From evidence to action

Services & approach

What services does Hawley Energy provide?

The work can include energy efficiency audits, monitoring and data, invoice and performance review, compliance including ESOS, project design and delivery, and decarbonisation planning. The right starting point depends on the problem your organisation needs to solve first.

How do you identify waste or overpayment?

We bring together bills, meter data, baselines, operating patterns, and what is happening on site. That helps reveal unusual consumption, building drift, avoidable waste, billing issues, and places where the energy strategy no longer matches the way the building is being used.

Do you design and deliver projects, or only advise?

Both are possible. Hawley Energy can advise on the right improvement, then help move it through design, approvals, procurement, delivery, and post-completion verification. You can start with a focused question and connect the next step when the evidence supports it.

03 / What the work can change

Outcomes & results

What results do clients typically achieve?

Published Hawley Energy results include indicative consumption reductions in the range of 10-30%, annual savings of £500k+ across suitable estates, and paybacks under two years for some projects. These are useful reference ranges, not guarantees: the outcome depends on the building, its starting point, how it operates, the quality of its data, and the scope of the work.

What technologies and improvements can you assess?

The assessment follows the building rather than a fixed technology list. It can include solar, heat pumps, building management systems (BMS), and metering, alongside the operational and fabric changes that determine whether an investment will perform in practice.

How do you know which improvement should happen first?

We compare the evidence, the likely impact, the practical constraints, and the commercial case. That creates a sequence your team can defend, with the quickest useful action separated from the work that needs more design, funding, or operational preparation.

04 / Making worthwhile work possible

PowerPacks financing

What is PowerPacks?

PowerPacks is Hawley Energy’s route for exploring finance for worthwhile energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects. It is intended to help a sound project move forward when waiting for a large upfront capital budget would keep the waste running.

How does PowerPacks financing work?

We start by understanding the project, the building, and the improvement it is expected to create. We then explore a suitable commercial structure, such as rental or hire-purchase, alongside the project scope and delivery route. The aim is to give you a clearer basis for deciding whether to proceed.

Who owns the equipment at the end of the term?

With hire-purchase, the equipment is owned outright after the final payment. With rental, ownership remains with the financier during the rental arrangement, with an option to buy at the end of the term.

How is PowerPacks different from using a broker?

A broker typically focuses on finding and arranging a finance product. PowerPacks considers finance as part of the wider energy project: what the building needs, what the improvement could achieve, how it will be delivered, and which commercial route may make sense.

How do we get started with PowerPacks?

Start with a conversation about your estate, energy spend, and the project you are considering. We can then understand the evidence, shape the next step, and explore whether financing is a sensible route for that particular building and business case.
